📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Assistant Tech DesignerPay Rate: $24/hr- $31/hrLocation: On-siteReports to: Manager of Tech Services or Senior Technical Designer
Job Description:The Assistant Tech Designer will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day tasks related to spec and sample preparation. This includes developing technical design skills such as measuring, construction, and development specifications. The role also involves organizing fit samples and maintaining sample closets.
Key Responsibilities:1. Preparing fit samples for fittings.2. Saving patterns from vendors in company shared drive.3. Entering measurements into PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system.4. Organizing fit sample library/racks in specific department.5. Maintaining sample/closet space and making room for upcoming seasons' sample sales.6. Following up on emails.7. Providing pre-production fit comments.8. Supporting standard operations by updating AI sketches and PPT decks.
Requirements:- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Illustrator- Basic product and fabric knowledge- Basic understanding of garment construction- Knowledge of patternmaking and draping techniques- Ability to measure garments accurately- Excellent written and verbal communication skills- Experience using YuniquePLM is a plus- Strong attention to detail- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
Education & Experience:- Degree in Apparel Industry or Merchandise Production Development (or equivalent degree)OREquivalent experiences totaling 6 months - 3 years of design experience (including summer jobs or internships)
