Process Engineer

The Process Engineer will follow all work instructions, equipment operating procedures, quality standards, and safety rules/guidelines while participating in a collaborative, team environment to achieve company goals.

Core Job Responsibilities:1. Monitor and improve performance of Production Processes related to the Production Unit (Up to 4 Production Processes)2. Interpret, be taught, and quickly learn Reaction Chemistry. All Production Processes start with some sort of Reaction Chemistry.3. Identify production related issues and generate appropriate continuous improvements. Collect, interpret, analyze, and correlate data for troubleshooting with productivity issues, quality issues, equipment issues, etc. Define and implement the necessary improvements based findings.4. Conduct an Investigation (Customer Complaints, Off-Spec Production, Equipment Failures, Production Process Upsets, etc.)5. Generate corrective actions.6. Manage Process Improvement Projects.7. Correlate Final Product Quality to Production Processing Data8. Help teach/train Plant Supervisors and Operators, and help further develop or create Training Plans for these Positions.9. Track Production Yields and Perform Mass Balances.10. Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Statistical Quality Control (SQC) tools.11. Collaborate with various departments / stakeholders (Quality, Production Operators/Supervisors, Management, Warehouse, Maintenance, Sales, etc) Job Requirements:· Bachelors in Chemical Engineering or similar field· 5+ Years Manufacturing Experience in an Engineering Role· 3+ Years Experience of root cause problem solving· 2+ Years Experience with MOC/CAPA process.· 2+ Years Project Management Experience coordinating between various departments/stakeholders.· Ability to conduct Investigations (Customer Complaints, Off-Spec Production, Equipment Failures, Production Process Upsets, etc.)· Ability to be taught and quickly learn common Unit Operations used in the Chemical Manufacturing Industry.· ISO9001 / EFfCI / GMP Production Experience

Preferred Education and Experience· Writing/Revising Procedures (SOP)· Statistical Process Control (SPC)/ Statistical Quality Control (SQC)· Experience with exothermic reactions, vacuum dryers, and powder handling/packaging operations.· Mechanically Inclined· Working experience and/or knowledge of the following Reaction Chemistries:o Batch Polymerizations / Oligomerization Reactions (Bulk, Emulsion, Free-Radical, Nucleophilic Substitution).o Esterification and Trans-Esterification Hydrolysis Reactions· Working experience and/or knowledge of the following Unit Operations:o Distillation Processeso Filtration Processes – Cloth Filter Presses, Belt Filterso Rotary Dryerso Spray Dryerso Dense and Dilute Phase Pneumatic Conveyingo Sieving, Size-Reducing, and Screening Packaging Operations
