People Operations Manager

MissionThe People Operations Manager develops and implements programs, systems, policies, and services that are scalable, sustainable, pragmatic, and contribute to the achievement of corporate growth plans, while supporting a high expectation, equitable and socially responsible culture.

Key ResponsibilitiesDevelopment and execution of supervisor training programs designed to prepare supervisors for the next generation of leadership.Development and execution of retention and people development programs designed to identify and nurture high-potential employees.Resident expert on employment law, handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and management, oversees employee and supervisor meetings as required.Manage standard H.R. management duties including onboarding and initial training of new staff, performance management, employee relations, and HR data management.

Additional Job Duties:Work with Director of Talent & Organizational Development to develop strategic plans, aligning human resources with the overall business goals and objectives at A-C.Develop and administer supervisor training programs including but not limited to people management, coaching vs. disciplinary strategies, delegation skills, presentation skills, the requirement of consistency, and legal obligations of a supervisor and more.Lead onboarding programs of new employees and newly promoted employees from welcoming each, administer pre-employment checks, through first full week of employment.Develop program for employee relations, inquiries, and investigations. Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations and investigations as required.Retention programs development and administration.Understand thoroughly the collective bargaining agreements signed by A-C.Work with and through department supervisors to establish performance metrics per role and coach supervisor how to regularly provide feedback to employees. Also involved in developing strategies to improve employee performance.Administer Leave of Absences. Communicate options available to employee based on eligibility, keep track of weeks, answer LOA questions for employee and supervisor.Develop and execute system for personnel file management and role of corporate, payroll and operations departments.The duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. RequirementsFifteen (15) or more years in People/Human Resources role, with an emphasis on development of people management programs and systems and demonstrated experience and working knowledge of California employment law.Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.SHRM certified, preferred.Experience in construction a plus.

Pay Range: $80,000 – $150,000. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
