Job Description Summary
American Axle & Manufacturing is seeking a Product Engineer - Powder Metal with a strong work ethic and motivation to join our world-class Engineering team.
Job Description
Collaborate with teams from different departments to resolve project requirements and specifications. Participate in the new business pursuit process by designing and developing powder metal components and systems. Conduct performance and durability testing to ensure products and process meet or exceed performance requirements. Analyze and interpret test data to optimize design and manufacturing processes. Support manufacturing operations by providing technical guidance and resolving production issues. Work closely with suppliers to select materials and components that meet design requirements. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements to continuously improve product performance. Actively contribute to design reviews and collaborate on product improvements. Strictly adhere to quality standards and procedures throughout the product lifecycleSuccessfully implement engineering changes and improvements to enhance product functionality.
Required Skills And Education
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related fieldProven experience in product engineering, preferably in powder metal applicationsProficiency in CAD software for design and analysisKnowledge of manufacturing processes and working with suppliersStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with diverse teams.
