Position Summary
The Product Development teams are focused on rapidly developing the next generation of percutaneously implanted cardiac pumps, both for acute and long-term patient support. Our team is leading or engaging in the development of the entire system including:
Pump/catheter/motor Access and repositioning sheaths On-board sensors / intelligence Console, UI, and System performance Clinical best practices, training, and pump management techniques
Key Responsibilities
The student will
Assist in the design of components/fixturesConduct engineering tests for design improvementProvide input into process development and improvementConduct failure analyses under mentorship of senior engineering staffAnalyze data and present results to larger Engineering team
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
Junior, Senior, or Grad student pursuing a degree in mechanical, biomedical engineering, or directly related discipline Strong design, testing, and analytical skills required (e.g. engineering and statistical analysis) Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal Knowledge of SolidWorks preferred Experience with machining and/or 3D printing is a plus
