π Role Overview & Responsibilities
The person we need must have accounting background and full understanding of the GAAP, and will assist us on the GL and monthly reports. The person must have a good knowledge of excel as well. Essential FunctionsProvide in-depth financial analysis of employer accounting records, reports, journals or statements to determine compliance with pertinent laws and regulations.Auditing financial documents and proceduresReconciling bank statementsCalculating tax payments and returnsPreparing, examining and analyzing a companyβs accounts, financial records and other financial obligationsEnsuring compliance with financial reporting and other standard proceduresInterpret and apply the Delaware Unemployment Compensation Law to identify coverage under its provisions.Analyze employer's total financial status and provide recommendations relative to reduction of debt under the waiver and compromise provisions of the Law.Collects, analyzes and evaluates financial data from a variety of sources. Ensures all transactions comply with accounting and tax policies, procedures, laws, rules and regulations. Provides counsel and advice to state organizations to resolve discrepancies, preclude errors and delays in processing. Approves requests, verifies coding for transaction processing or cancellation. Performs audits of documents to ensure proper accounting of funds. Provides recommendations, guidance and direction to management for the purpose of understanding, meeting functional and operational goals and objectives. Job RequirementsPossession of a Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Business Management, Computer Information Systems or related field. CPA highly desired.Experience in accounting which includes recording, verifying and reporting financial information using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Experience in financial analysis which includes compiling, analyzing and interpreting financial data to ensure effective and efficient accounting of funds or to make projections for financial planning. Experience in using an automated financial management information system to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve/inquire and report on data. Experience in interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of analyzing financial problems, developing alternatives, recommending and advising management on solutions.
