📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Description
Perform onsite management of small retail/commercial remodels Responsible for safety enforcement & safety auditsCreating project schedules & coordinating with subcontractors on a daily basis Onsite documentation of activities & reporting updates in project management softwareHandling submittals, change orders, RFI's, and other related documents Reading blueprints, drawings, site layouts in accordance to specificationsProposing bids and determining the costs of labor and materials for projectsAttending client meetings/coordinating with client onsiteDaily job-site clean-up/ensuring site is set-up for operation the next dayEnsuring site is secure & locked up prior to wrapping up the shiftOccasional basic hand/power tool use
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (Associate's a minimum requirement) An internship to 3 years of experience working for a general contractor, or related construction experience Hands-on attitude and ability to work with their handsMust be open to working night shifts, weekends dependent on projectAbility to travel around the Chicagoland area for projects
