Product Engineer

Project Engineer with mechanical experience needed!

Description

Reporting to and under the general direction of the Director of Engineering, the Product Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining competitive and innovative products to meet customer requirements and engineering milestones. The product engineer is responsible for delivering engineering designs and assignments requiring general familiarity with a broad field of engineering with mechanical and gas engineering as the foundation. The Product Engineer will also participate in independent studies & concept formulation, analysis, prototyping, testing, transition to production and sustaining engineering. Using Solidworks, create 3D solid models and detailed 2D drawings from concept through detailed design, metal materials, design reviews, manufacturability, cost, regulatory standards, schedule, lean manufacturing, etc. This requires knowledge of how to operate gas meters, gas analyzer, measure combustion products, calculate gas values, and calculate the air free number. Create Bill of Materials, Assembly Instructions, Test Reports, Design Review Presentations, Request for Quotes (RFQs), Corrective Action Report (CARs), Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and the like. Interact with suppliers with respect to samples, tooling, sourcing, project timing, design changes, and testing, etc. Create Gantt charts for project timing and take responsibility for the project management, Engineering tasks, and successfully transition on the new product into production.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

5+ years of direct exp working on technical projects involving gas and piping (3+ is ok if its direct stove/fireplace exp.)

2+ years exp Creating 3D models and 2D drawings withing a manufacturing enviroment
