Licensed Practical Nurse

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following. Additional duties may be assigned as needed and may vary depending on specialty.

Delivering safe and compassionate care to patients under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse.Patient interviews and performing general appraisals of the patient’s condition.Patient and family care and treatment educationAdministration of treatments and monitoring for patient response including side effects and reactions.Coordination and assistance in the delivery of a plan of health care and collaborating regarding patient condition, lab results and responses to treatment.Consistent, accurate and timely documentation of patient medical history, current health, and nursing processes. Evaluating and documenting patient response to interventions and progress towards attainment of goals and expected outcomes. Completion of required training as assigned. Report all incidents, accidents, or potential hazards in accordance with established policies. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

License, Certification, Education

Must be a U.S. citizen and at least 18 years of age.American Heart Association BLS certification is required. ACLS required for some specialties/facility types.Graduation of a state approved nursing program and completion of a state approved competency examinationUnencumbered Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse license valid for the work site state.IV Certification may be required depending on position.

Experience: Twelve months experience in a patient care setting, specialty positions require two or more years’ experience in the specialty.

Requirements

Must complete the onboarding and hiring process including background investigation(s) and drug screening; Backgrounds must be clear of any felony convictions.Health Records – Hep B, TB test/chest x-ray, COVID-19 and influenza for the current season. A pre-assignment physical examination may be required.Language: Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language requiredMust have excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to assess situations to make independent, policy compliant decisions.

Must be able to see, hear and communicate.Must be able to use proper body positioning and body mechanics including to -Regularly stand, sit, walk, run, climb, kneel, crouch, bend, twist.Dexterity and fine motor function including strength, control, lifting, reaching and tool usage.Must be able to lift 20 pounds frequently, up to 50 pounds infrequently, and lift or assist in lifting more than 50 pounds at times.
