Programmer Analyst: Data/API Modeler

Acuity is seeking a highly motivated Data and API Modeler to join our IT-Enterprise Data team. This skilled Modeler will provide data and process analysis, conceptual and logical data model designs, conceptual capability modeling, and API modeling on projects across multiple business domains. This role will collaborate with business analysts, data stewards, a team of data and API modelers, and enterprise domain development teams to define and model enterprise data and processes. The person in this position will adhere to enterprise standards and best practices and maintain a robust inventory of standards for data and API artifacts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Has knowledge of commonly used programming concepts, practices, and procedures common to Object Oriented or service based designs.Understands when, where, and why to use different programming languages used by their development team. Able to identify and correct programming inefficiencies.May consult with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives.Follows test plans and/or creates test plans appropriate for the scope of the programming changes.Capable of understanding and employing various data storage techniques and utilities (DB2, XML, JSON).Creates or updates all documentation effected by a change, including rerun or disaster recovery documentation and procedures.Resolves production problems and participates in the nightly call list for problem resolution.Regular and predictable attendance.Completes a mandatory training program as determined by Acuity.Performs other duties as assigned.Follows department standards and procedures and recognizes when changes to these may be justified.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE

3-5 years of data/API modeling experience.

OTHER

Analytical problem-solving skills.Strong oral and written communication skills.Business acumen in the insurance vertical is preferred.

This position is classified as exempt.

The salary range for this position is $76,500 - $125,000 annually. This salary range is an estimate and the actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
