Electrical Engineer - SubstationsLocation: Greater San Antonio, TX 100% medical/dental/vision covered with no out-of-pocket expense to the employeeCasual work environment
Responsibilities:Detail engineering and design of substation projects from conceptual design through construction from 4kV to 345kV.Create/modify design documents and drawings for a project, including one-lines, three-lines, control schematics, wiring diagrams, relay panel arrangements, specifications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, and generating bills of materialEffectively communicate and coordinate project activities with manager, clients, and others as neededPrepare scopes, schedules, and budgets, and ensure that schedules and budgets are metTake on a project engineer and/or project manager role as required
Requirements:4-year degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering (emphasis in Power is preferred)Minimum of 5 years applicable post-graduation substation design experienceCurrent PE License in the State of Texas or ability to obtain the license within 12 months of hireStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work closely with other engineering and design team members to coordinate overall design package and requirementsAbility to travelTake personal responsibility and ownership for the quality and accuracy of work productProficiency using AutoCAD or Microstation and Microsoft Office SuiteSelf-starterAble to simultaneously manage multiple projectsWork independently or in a team environmentMust be able to routinely lift up to 30lbsValid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
