The ideal Criminal Defense Paralegal possesses 5+ years of experience assisting with trial, drafting legal documents, and can effectively communicate. Criminal Defense Paralegal Duties:Support attorneys through the life cycle of criminal cases, from initial client interviews to post-trial proceedings.Draft and file various legal documents, such as motions, pleadings, subpoenas, and briefs.Collaborate with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather evidence and formulate case strategies.Review and organize discovery materials, including police reports, witness statements, and forensic evidence.Prepare trial exhibits, witness lists, and trial notebooks, ensuring accuracy and accessibility of all documentation.Assist in courtroom proceedings, including attendance at trials, coordination of witnesses, and presentation of exhibits.Maintain organized case files, calendars, and deadlines, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.Conduct thorough legal research on relevant case law, statutes, and regulations pertaining to criminal defense matters.Effectively communicate with clients, attorneys, and court personnel, providing timely updates on case status and promptly addressing inquiries.
