Job Responsibilities
Data Collection and Management:Collect, organize, and maintain geographic data using GIS software and tools.Update and verify existing geographic datasets to ensure accuracy and reliability.Assist in the creation and maintenance of GIS databases.
Spatial Analysis
Conduct spatial analysis to identify patterns, trends, and relationships within geographic data.Generate maps, charts, and reports to communicate spatial analysis findings to team members and stakeholders.
Map Production
Create high-quality maps for various purposes, including presentations, reports, and publications.Customize map layouts and designs to effectively convey information to end-users.
Quality Assurance
Perform quality assurance checks on GIS data and outputs to ensure data integrity and consistency.Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues as needed.
Collaboration And Communication
Collaborate with team members from different departments to understand their GIS needs and requirements.Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather data requirements and provide GIS-related support and assistance.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related field.Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Prior experience or coursework in GIS is preferred but not required.
