Job Description

As a Flow Cytometry RA2/SRA1, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining flow cytometry instrumentation, analyzing cellular samples, and providing expertise in flow cytometry techniques. You will collaborate with researchers, scientists, and other professionals to support experimental design, data analysis, and troubleshooting. Your role will contribute to advancing research initiatives and facilitating scientific discoveries in various fields such as immunology, oncology, and molecular biology. Experience with high content imaging is a plus.

Responsibilities

Instrument Operation: Operate and maintain flow cytometers and associated equipment, ensuring optimal performance and instrument calibration.Sample Preparation: Prepare cellular samples for analysis, including cell staining, labeling, and sample processing according to experimental protocols.Data Acquisition: Perform flow cytometry experiments, acquire data using appropriate software, and ensure data integrity and accuracy.Data Analysis: Analyze flow cytometry data, including gating and data interpretation, using relevant software tools. Provide support in data visualization and presentation.Quality control: Implement quality control measures to ensure the reliability and reproducibility of experimental results. Maintain documentation of experimental procedures and resultTechnical Support: Provide guidance and technical support to researchers and laboratory staff in experimental design, troubleshooting, and optimization of flow cytometry protocol.Training and Education: Train users on flow cytometry techniques, instrument operation, and data analysis. Develop educational materials and conduct workshops or seminars on flow cytometry-related topics.Research Collaboration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support research projects, participate in experimental design discussions, and contribute to scientific publications and presentations.Stay Updated: Stay abreast of advancements in flow cytometry technology, methodologies, and applications. Evaluate and implement new techniques and protocols to enhance laboratory capabilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Biological Sciences, Immunology, Cell Biology, or related field with 2-4 years relevant experience.Extensive hands-on experience with flow cytometry instrumentation and techniques.Proficiency in flow cytometry data analysis software (e.g., FlowJo, FCS Express) and Microsoft Office Suite.Strong understanding of immunology and cell biology principles.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.Attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.Prior experience in a research or clinical laboratory setting is preferred.

Compensation

The expected annual salary range for this full-time position is $90,000 - $115,000, plus eligibility for bonus, benefits, and equity incentives. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, business needs, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
