Special Education Teacher For Summer Day Camp Director (starting fall 2024)
📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities

Trip Camp, a unique day travel camp for boys diagnosed with ADHD, is a one-of-a-kind experience. With locations in New Jersey and Ohio, families from across the United States and internationally flock to our camp each summer, drawn by our unparalleled opportunities and experiences.
Trip Camp Phoenix will begin enrollment in September 2024 and open in June 2025. Rhis's position will start in the fall of 2024. Thus, we are looking to hire a Director who will work part-time, remotely during the school year, and full-time for four weeks in the summer.
School-year responsibilities include:Speaking with prospective camp familiesTaking families through a multi-step admission process (teacher recommendation and student interview) to make an admission determinationCommunicating with enrolled families via emailInterviewing prospective camp counselorPlanning and organizing camp tripsCommunicating with vendorsInterviewing prospective camp van driversFacilitating (virtual) camp orientation
Camp season responsibilities include:Teaching 45 min (provided) lessons each morningOrdering camp supplies (food, etc.)Managing money and camp credit cardLeading tripsCommunicating with families through nighly emailProviding 20-min follow-up phone/zoom calls to camper's parents after the camp season (if they request it)
QualificationsBachelors or Masters Degree in Special EducationUpdated AZ fingerprint card and federal clearancesExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailExperience working with educated and affluent parents who expect a certain level of professionalismAbility to come into the office in Phoenix a few times per month and participate in virtual meetings with other Trip Camp Directors. Camp experience is plus but not a requirement
