Soldering/Board Assembly Technician

Location: Torrance, CaliforniaEmployment Type: Part-time ResponsibilitiesPerform soldering operations on electronic components and assemblies according to established procedures and quality standards.Inspect incoming materials and components for suitability and quality, including checking for defects and/or damage.Prepare surfaces for soldering, including cleaning, tinning, and applying flux as necessary.Set up and operate soldering equipment, such as soldering irons and solder pots, safely and efficiently.Monitor soldering processes to ensure proper temperature, solder flow, and joint integrity, adjusting as needed.Troubleshoot soldering issues and defects, such as cold joints, bridging, or insufficient solder, and implement corrective actions.Work collaboratively with production and quality assurance teams to meet production targets and maintain product quality.Maintain accurate records of soldering activities, including soldering parameters, inspection results, and any deviations from standard procedures.Adhere to safety protocols and best practices to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to equipment or materials.Skills and Qualifications RequiredProficient at surface mount soldering (including QFN, LGA, etc. packages).Excellent hand dexterity and the ability to work under a microscope.Experience in a clean room environment and soldering/handling of static-sensitive components.Hot air rework experience.Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and process.Ability to manage time effectively to finish tasks needing completion in a timely manner.Ability to work with others in a friendly and professional manner in a highly collaborative environment.Comfortable working in a fluid environment where priorities can change quickly.
