Aegis has partnered with a plastics manufacturer in the Cowpens, SC, area. We are looking to add an experienced engineer to our team to improve processes. Ideally the person for this role will have some plastics manufacturing in their background. Injection Mold experience is preferred.
The candidate for this role will be responsible for monitoring the operations of our systems, including quality and compliance. The candidate should also be able to recommend improvements to the blow molding process through the tracking of metrics and data reporting. The candidate should have strong technical abilities to succeed in this role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESDrive permanent solutions to improve throughput by reducing scrap and downtimeAnalyze processes and equipment for cost reduction and productivity improvement opportunitiesResearch, specify, and price new equipment for purchaseCapex ProjectsManage projects to install new machinery and rebuild legacy equipmentCollect data to validate compliance with regulatory and internal standardsDevelop work cells and CAD layouts of the factoryOversee, assess and improve existing processes and workflowsGenerate reports documenting process status and changesPlan, collect and interpret data to qualify new toolsPrepare project status reports for management reviewProvide thorough instructions for successful implementation of process changesSupport maintenance activities and mentor individualsConducts risk assessmentsAssess compliance with safety and quality standards
QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in engineering preferred, or strong EBM processing and technical skillsMinimum of five years of experience in plastics manufacturingEffective written and oral communication, and computer skillsStrong analytical, decision-making, problem-solving skills with attention to detailAbility to delegate, prioritize and organize own work, and the work of others
