Senior Research And Development Engineer

Aerometals is looking to add the following position

Senior R&D Engineer

Pay range: 110,000 - $160,000 yearly

The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to:Develop engineering data to include drawings, specifications, test plans, test reports, stress reports, fatigue reports, assembly procedures, installation procedures, maintenance procedures, manufacturing travelers, and any other engineering reports deemed appropriate for the product being developed.Develop 2D or 3D models of parts, engineering drawings of mechanical and electrical parts, and assemblies conforming to Aerometals drawing standards.Perform detailed engineering analysis required for each engineering project.Coordinate and/or conduct engineering tests including aircraft flight tests.Coordinate FAA certification projects from start through completion.Lead projects and teams in the preparation of plans, designs, specifications, and stress and fatigue reports.Follow Aerometals quality procedures for all engineering products and processes.Perform any other duties as assigned by the organization.

Qualification Requirements

Education: BSME or BSMET and/or Aeronautical Engineering degree.

Skills: Ability to create and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T per ASME Y14.5 standards.Familiarity with AutoCAD and SolidWorks CAD programs.Technical report writing, technical communication with other departments, vendors, and customers.Static structural, fatigue, and vibration analysis.Familiarity of design for manufacturing, composite design, and composite tooling design.Familiarity with ANSYS FEA and CFD or equivalent.

Experience: 5 years in R&D Engineering or related field

Training: On the job training.
