Maintenance Technician I

The Maintenance Technician I will perform tooling calibration and maintenance on production equipment. In this role, the incumbent will apply their technical skills and experience to maximize equipment availability, identify causes of machine failure and rectify these causes in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

Understands and complies with established standards for tooling and calibration.Troubleshoots, repairs, and performs regular maintenance of production tooling and machines.Performs internal verification of equipment as needed.Works with external vendors to prepare equipment and machines to be sent for calibration. Creates schedules and communicates with all parties involved based upon production needs.Collaborates with Process Engineering to define appropriate Preventive Maintenance Routines for new machines.Works with MP-9 admin to ensure all manufacturing equipment is set up on the system and to keep database updated with necessary changes in regards location, status, unique ID, label, and improvements to PM routines.Completes all necessary paperwork relating to MP-9 routines, reports, and daily inspections.Collaborates with Manufacturing clerk and direct manager to define appropriate critical spare parts needed to keep the facility running and establish min/max levels to keep inventory in good shape.Communicates with direct manager the status of PM’s and calibrations. Keeps daily and monthly reports updated.Assists in installation and startup of new equipment and tools. Participates in development of equipment specifications as required for new products.Offers ideas/suggestions for continuous improvement.Keep tool room and workstations with 5’s standards all the time.Interfaces with other departments to help resolve issues.Adhere to EHS policies of AFL.Assist in basic facilities duties (painting, bulb changes, floor repairs, etc.)

Qualifications

Working knowledge of machine tooling maintenance requirements and basic inventory control conceptsAbility to read and understand basic verbal and written instructions, drawings, Material Instructions and Workmanship standards and specifications.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent problem-solving & troubleshooting skills.Ability to distinguish between color hues.Ability to work quickly while maintaining accuracy.Working knowledge of inspection techniques and instrumentsProficient with MS Office tools
