The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Electrical Engineer (NH-0855-03) to work at the 586th Flight Test Squadron (DOE) at Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, NM.

This position has a typical 2024 salary range of $86,962-$134,435 (includes locality).

Position specific skills and experience desired in a potential candidate:- Proven performance solving technical problems, preferably related to aircraft or aircraft sub-systems.- Desire 2 years of program management and proven technical performance as an electrical or mechanical engineer.- Experience with aircraft, aircraft modifications, and associated standards, desired.- Experience using and applying advanced modeling and simulation software, i.e., MATLAB, NX, FEM, CAD, or CFD programs.

Mission/Purpose:In this position, you will serve as an Electronics Engineer, providing the Unit with technical expertise, leading test programs, and collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver Prototyping and Experimentation (P&E) technology.

Major Duties:- Performs engineering/program management duties.- Leads complex test programs, providing technical and programmatic electrical engineering support.- Collaborates with diverse teams and stakeholders to deliver customer products.- Provides leadership with detailed technology integration information and test strategies, ensuring safety and flight readiness.- Applies AFTC Airworthiness standard policies and procedures.- Designs and operates Mesh Radio networks.

Qualifications/Requirements:- U.S. Citizenship- Obtain & maintain Security clearance- A professional degree at the bachelor’s level from an ABET accredited institution in engineering or closely related field is required. An engineering degree on the graduate level is highly desired.- This position has been designated as a Non-Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Development Program (APDP)- Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY) approximately 30 days per year- Flight operations may be required in order to meet mission objectives and are authorized.- Knowledge of professional electronics engineering concepts, principles, and practices to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts.- Knowledge of development testing and evaluation.- Knowledge of the principles of planning and program management.
