📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Job Overview
Plans, organizes, and directs the turbine engine S&T development efforts that encompass USAF and joint service projects, and advanced development engine tasks directed at the functional demonstration and analytical assessment of new and unique turbine engine designs and propulsion concepts. Demonstrations involved the testing and assessment of experimental turbine engines, covering a broad range of technical objectives. Appraises existing technology for applicability and alignment with the Division and Directorate needs. Coordinates research efforts with other USAF and government organizations to include: Navy, Army, DoD, DoE, FAA, and NASA. Promotes a culture where Intellectual Property (IP) is developed, documented, protected, and rewarded. Review technical publications as part of the technical publication review process. Utilizes scientific/engineering knowledge to assist in IP transfer, transition, or commercialization.

Required Qualifications
US Citizen Educational Requirements: A professional science or engineering degree from an accredited school of science/engineering or a combination of education and experience. A Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree of Master's or Ph.D. is highly desirable. Acquisition Requirements: This is an APDP position requiring Level/Tier 2 (Practitioner) Non-Critical certification in Engineering & Technical Management (N). This position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The employee must meet, or be capable of meeting, Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position. Current Secret clearance is required, with ability to obtain Top Secret.
