Position Overview: The Financial Analyst/ Property Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly and annual financial statements for an assigned portfolio of condo/co-op communities located through Westchester/NYC. This role works closely with the property manager and resident board members to achieve the community’s financial goals.
Responsibilities Include, But Not Limited To
Responsible for General Ledger Accounting for assigned portfolio of Condo/coop buildings Review all financial statements and make all adjustments that are deemed necessaryReview budget to actual variances and present a variance explanation to the board as neededCommunicating with the Board Treasurer and Board President regarding the financial positionStrong working knowledge of general ledger, trial balance, accruals (on a cash basis), preparing custom reports and cash flow projectionsInvesting client funds as directed by the BoardPreparing and presenting budgetsReviewing new account financial files that have been transferred to AKAM to ensure we have copies of all documents and ensure all funds are transferred appropriatelyAssist with the annual audits
Qualifications
Must have bachelor’s degree in finance or accountingAt least 2 years of Financial Analyst or Property Accountant experience within the real estate/or property management industryExperience in dealing with the monthly financial statements of condos/coops specifically Must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Suite programsBJ Murray or Yardi software experience is a plus
