Our Cloud Enablement team is part of the Cloud Platform Infrastructure Group, developing capabilities into Akamai's cloud computing platform targeting the enablement of enterprise-grade workloads to run on Akamai Connected Cloud.

As a Principal Lead Software Development Engineer in Test, you will lead a team that works closely with engineers to develop and own an automated testing framework for evaluating functionality and performance of the Akamai Connected Cloud capabilities that are the pillars of our cloud platform.

As a Principal Lead Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for-

Leading and mentoring a team of Software Development Engineers in TestCreating, deploying, and owning our testing frameworkDriving projects to completion, collaborating closely with developers, test teams, and SREs, across Akamai's Cloud Computing organizationDesigning, developing, and executing functional, regression, and performance tests and evaluating their resultsEnsuring software quality across a range of products

Do What You Love

To be successful in this role you will-

Have 12 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalentPossess substantial experience with creating, executing, debugging and analyzing functional, regression, performance, and stress tests.Have experience building or running an automated testing frameworkHave a good understanding of Linux fundamentals, including networking protocols and virtualizationHave a good understanding of KubernetesBe proficient in multiple scripting languagesBe proficient in test automation (e.g. Jenkins CI)

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $149,122 - $238,744/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
