Security Engineer - 100% Remote - Contract to Hire (W2)

Akkodis is seeking a Security Engineer for a Contract to Hire (C2H) position, and this is a 100% Remote role. Ideally looking for applicants with a solid background in Security incident/Problem/Change management and Reporting. Rate Range: $66-$82 per hour W2. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

The Role:As a Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security of the client’s human capital technology solution and the privacy of its customers. Leveraging your combined expertise in security and system engineering, you will be responsible for managing the proper configuration of business processes to align with client and Federal cybersecurity standards and best practices. Your activities will include documenting and managing vulnerabilities and issues through Plan of Action and Milestones (POAMs), implementing security controls, collaborating with government Information Security Officers (ISOs) to understand security processes and methodologies, and supporting accreditation milestones. You will have the opportunity to work across multiple technologies in an agile team setup and collaborate closely with functional analysts and client users.

Role Responsibilities:Documentation and Management of Security Issues and Standards: 60%Investigations and Troubleshooting/Analysis of Security Issues: 20%Security Control Implementation: 10%Reporting of Status and Interacting with Customer ISOs: 10%

Education and Experience:RequiredMinimum 7 years of experience + Bachelor's Degree or equivalent3+ years of experience in large and complex IT projects, preferably in the Human Capital space7+ years of experience with security incident/problem/change management and reporting3+ years of experience with supporting Authorizations to Operate (ATOs) for Federal agenciesProven experience and knowledge of NIST 800-53 and Federal ATO processesProven ability to learn and adopt new technologiesMust be able to work the hours of 8 am-5 pm Eastern Time regardless of your home location

Preferred CertificationsAgile certification

Preferred SkillsSystem administration and/or other hands-on technical experienceExperience with human capital systems, especially in support of Federal customers
