Billing Manager

POSITION SUMMARYUnder the supervision of the Director of Finance, the Billing Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of billing services and provider enrollment. The primary purpose of this position is to manage the accounts receivables of the organization. The Manager will have a complete understanding of the components of revenue cycle management in an FQHC setting. The duties include but are not limited to: developing and monitoring operational and statistical goals of the department; hands on oversight and participation in claim billings, claims follow up, managed care contract cash receipts, cash application, unapplied cash resolution, pre-collection, underpayments monitoring, denial management, Medicaid, Medicare Commerical Insurance and managed care contract management and compliance; management of collection company contracts; monitoring department staffing levels, training and development; develop and maintain effective working relationships with the Chief Medical Officer, Medical Directors, Practice Managers, Call Center and Patient Support staff, eligibility and case management teams to ensure that medical billing improves the patient/client experience; and other duties necessary to support the team goals in achieving the community health center's mission.

QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferredMinimum of 3-5 years of leadership experience as operations manager in the billing department of a multi-specialty practiceFederally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Medicaid and Medicare billing experience is requiredStrong, in-depth knowledge of revenue cycle management principles and practices, including medical billing, dental, coding, collections, managed care products, regulatory compliance, payor credentialing, clearinghouse, claims submission processes and financial reporting.Strong, in-depth knowledge with electronic payment posting of claims.Strong, in-depth knowledge of CPT and ICD 10 coding.Strong, in-depth knowledge and up to date on third-party and insurance operating procedures, regulations, billing requirements, managed care contracts and government reimbursement programs. Working knowledge of GE Centricity EHR and practice management highly desired.
