Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

Job Description

The Business Intelligence Analyst (BIA) plays a key role in uncovering insights that lead to better informed and successful decision-making. Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, this role requires someone who has the knowledge and skills to turn raw data into information and insights. This individual is also responsible for understanding business context, identifying critical data, separating the noise, and then creating comprehensive scorecards (operational and management) of KPIs and KRIs to monitor the health of our business and highlight areas needing attention.

Business Intelligence sits at the intersection of business and technology, and this role is grounded in both. The work will serve the big picture needs of the business, and the analyst must become fluent in the company operations and quantitative management systems while effectively serving as an internal consultant who can demonstrate insights that measure enterprise business impact and results.

This is an ideal role for a deeply analytical individual who is a self-starter, a quick learner, and who enjoys structuring and solving ambiguous problems by asking the right questions of stakeholders, understanding the needed data and associated gaps and creating technical solutions.

Position ResponsibilitiesBuild visualizations, models, and metrics from conception to dashboard using specialist tools such as Matillion, Fivetran, Snowflake, DBT Cloud, and Thoughtspot.Transform data sets, quantitative, and qualitative analyses into compelling visuals.Work with Operations, Clinical, Executive Leadership, Marketing, and Finance teams to understand monitoring needs and execute upon that guidance.Provide visual, technical, and editorial expertise and proposals for implementation.Identify data sources and appropriate ways to analyze data.Work with managers to establish briefs for data-related projects.Meets deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Manages projects, often using agile methodology.Works with coworkers in a positive collaborating mindset to gain buy-in and develop projects through execution and implementation.Manage Data Engineer to implement data collection and system updates to support improved business intelligence.Use data analysis techniques to enhance clinical intelligence and psychometrics within our organization.Collaborate with teams to identify opportunities for improving personality assessment software we have developed.Develop and implement strategies to optimize data collection and analysis processes related to client care.Analyze data trends and patterns to identify areas for improvement in client outcomes.Other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)Bachelor’s degreeLocal to Southern California, with the ability to travel to Dana Point, CA6+ year experience delivering data driven insights.Deep experience in data visualization and reporting using open-source libraries/packages and third-party tools (Snowflake, ThoughtSpot or similar)Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPointStrong experience working with stakeholders and translating business requirements to technical requirements.Ability to understand processes-translate it to data and create/evaluate associated KPIs.A passion for building remarkable things with data.An eagerness to learn and solve problems (and the smarts to do it!)Positive & creative problem solving in the face of data challenges.Ability to understand the business purpose or problem behind a request.Ability to ask for help and help others (but also teach oneself when needed)Strong teamwork, solution-centric and customer-service-oriented attitudeEffective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication with both business and technology.Flexibility to successfully multitask in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.
