Position Overview

The Host at Arva with F&B 575 at Aman New York is responsible for being the first point of contact for all of our guests. The Host is responsible for providing genuine hospitality while maintaining all aspects of the space and meeting guests’ needs.

This position has an hourly compensation rate of $21.00.

Responsibilities

Follow the posted opening and closing dutiesProvide excellent service at all timesCooperate with the Maître ’d and the Management team to greet incoming and departing guests with a warm, knowledgeable & noticeably appreciative demeanour with eye contact and a genuine smile Set and maintain the dining room and podium environment and ensure materials are perfectly cleanHave necessary knowledge of menu items to assist guests as neededAssist guest and colleagues courteously and efficientlyUse the guest’s name appropriately and communicate it to restaurant colleagues and assist in seating guests and pulling chairsAssist restaurant colleagues to prepare for serviceCommunicate other necessary information with colleagues (i.e., birthdays, anniversaries, special requests)Communicate through Guest Movement chat group any relevant guest movementsCoordinate set menus for small groups and distribute copies of the event form accordinglyInform restaurant managers of daily reservations forecastShare information on all upcoming events with the Concierge teamAssist in monitoring all guests’ needsConfirm daily reservationsLog in information about our guest preferencesCheck daily for our regular guest preferences and record them in our daily list for the serviceAssist with coat check as neededAll other responsibilities assigned by Management

Qualifications

1 year experience in a luxury hotel environment or similar setting in restaurants or food and beverageMust be able to work weekends and have open availabilityMust be capable of working in a team-oriented environment to achieve the hotel’s common goal of guest satisfactionMust be able to take constructive criticism and work well in a team dynamicPositive, engaging, and energetic personality Must be personable and able to anticipate guests’ needsAble to be organized, manage time wisely and work with little to no direct supervision Very high attention to detailSensitive to cultural nuances Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal on EnglishAble to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, fast paced environmentExcellent people skills and the ability to work under pressure and with various stakeholdersAbility to maintain a clean and professional appearance as per company policiesAbility to stand for extended periods of timeMulti-lingual is a plusExperience working with SevenRooms is preferredTIPS Certified
