DUTIES:1. Lobby members of Congress and staff on behalf of ACEC members on key water and environmental issues. This position requires close working relationships with, and in-depth knowledge of the appropriations process and relevant House and Senate oversight committees.2. Monitor and comment on Congressional/regulatory action pertaining to broad water and environmental policies and the effects that they have on the industry and our clients.3. Keep the Water & Environment Committee and ACEC membership up to date on issues, business opportunities, or trends. The Vice President can act as a clearinghouse in getting relevant information to the committees, and ACEC membership as a whole, in developing ACEC policy, promoting new business opportunities and practices, and in educating the membership.4. The position recommends potential PAC-recipients in Congress, advises other in-house lobbyists as appropriate, and generally is on-call to support ACEC initiatives that my take precedence at any given time.
QUALIFICATIONS:Candidates for the position should have strong experience in working with congressional committees and federal agencies, and have knowledge of federal policies affecting water markets and clients and other environmental issues and programs.Capitol Hill, agency and/or related industry experience required;Knowledge of the engineering industry a plus.Bachelor’s degree required
