📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
American Directions Research Group is a market research firm seeking a Human Resources (HR) Manager. The HR Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the company’s HR function. The HR Manager handles a wide range of HR functions, including establishing and enforcing HR processes and procedures based on best practices, partnering with company leadership to recruit and cultivate top-level talent, and facilitating a positive relationship between personnel and management. The HR Manager reports to the CEO.
Responsibilities include:Managing the end-to-end payroll process for both salaried, exempt and hourly, non-exempt employees.Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, employment contracts, performance history, and benefits elections.Administering employee benefits programs and responds to employee inquiries regarding benefits.Leading and developing a small team of HR professionals in a dynamic environment.Managing the recruiting and onboarding process, including facilitating new hire orientations.Managing employee leave requests, time off, and attendance records.Overseeing HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations including EEO, FMLA, and FLSA.Assisting line managers in the application of HR programs to departmental operations.Providing HR support to employees, answering their questions and addressing concerns.Assisting in performance management, employee relations, and conflict resolution.Leading HR projects and initiatives that support the company’s overall HR strategy.Maintaining knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees and to reduce legal risks.Administering salary and compensation programs, including benchmarking and analysis, and ensuring fairness and equity across the organization.Performing other duties as designated by the CEO.
QualificationsExcellent oral, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).Detail-oriented, organized, and can work independently as well as with a team.Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.Strong process and planning orientation.Combination of big-picture thinking and hands-on implementation.Positive and “can-do” attitude.Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.Experience working in a remote culture.Minimum of 5 years’ progressive and proven professional experience.Familiar with database systems and common HR and payroll applications.
