Technical Support Specialist, Adult Learning

Overview

AIR is currently seeking an experienced course developer and part-time Technical Support Specialist to join our team. The position is part of AIR’s Adult Learning Hub that develops and conducts webinars, self-directed and facilitated courses for utilization by adult education teachers and administrators. Specifically, the Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for ongoing updates and development of new courses with emphasis on the optimization and scaling of our online learning system and content and supporting webinars. This role includes providing occasional technical support at face-to-face events in AIR’s Sacramento office.

Candidates hired for the position must be based in California and may work remotely from home or from AIR’s Sacramento office.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for the position include

Build and administer learning activities and resources using Moodle or third-party applications such as Articulate 360, Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, HTML, and Adobe Creative Suite Provide webinar technical support to facilitators and participants Provide technologies support for in-person events in the AIR Sacramento, CA office Understand and apply new eLearning initiatives and innovations Work as part of a team and meet deadlines Support all aspects of project work as assigned including: coordinate logistics of virtual and in-person meetings and events, manage accountability tasks such as monthly and annual reports, liaise with publications and facilities services, execute tasks and activities as directed by project leaders to complete deliverables Undertake such other tasks as may reasonably be required

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, and Experience

Associate degree in education or related field 3-5 years of relevant experience providing instructional design, specifically online course development Previous experience with a Learning Management System (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas, etc.) Previous work experience in educational instruction and teaching online Previous experience coordinating professional development events both in-person and virtual Experience in creating accessible online courses Experience working as part of a team to meet deadlines

Skills

Ability to build and administer learning activities and resources using Moodle or third-party applications Strong understanding of internet concepts and web technology, including User Experience design and digital media authoring Proficiency in creating instructional products that incorporate audio and video Take an active interest in new eLearning initiatives Detail-oriented attention to coordination and logistics management Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication with individuals at all levels and from diverse backgrounds Comfortable working in a dispersed/virtual work environment

AIR’s Total Rewards Program , is designed to reward our staff competitively and motivate them to achieve our critical mission. This position offers an anticipated hourly rate of $42.00. Salary offers are made based on internal equity within the institution and external equity with competitive markets. Please note this is the annual salary range for candidates that are based in the United States.
