Job Description:The CDN-WAF-Eng Application resource collaborates with application owners, infrastructure owners, architects, and developers tintegrate CDN, WAF, security tools such as web application firewalls and bot mitigation tprotect client websites and mobile appsThis role alscollaborates with corporate security fraud teams, privacy teams, and incident response teams in investigations related twebsitesThis individual is responsible for the analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance of the automation tasks for our platform, operations, system engineerThis individual is alsresponsible for collaborating with application owners and security vendors tupdate/tune Web Application Firewall (WAF) and bot mitigation security policiesWorking with Akamai's product & services, you are involved in every facet of Akamai's customized services for T-Mobile DigitalMonitoring, troubleshooting and resolving server and platform, application, network problemsWorking with various internal/external stakeholders tnarrow down problems and achieve resolutionEnsuring SLAs are achieved, and Web Platform Operations work quality expectations are metEnsuring the accuracy of the Platform Operations procedures/documents, runbooksDiagnosing troubles identified by platform, infrastructure, application, network, monitoring and working tresolve issuesActing as an escalation point within the Web Platform OperationsThis is an opportunity twork in a large scale, Web Platform Operations. Working directly with Akamai's SMEs, direct product and professional services teams, you are involved in every facet of Akamai's services engineering & operations. You can contribute tT-Mobile's Web Platform Operations success while being part of a very important team. Monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving platform, app, server and network problems. Working with various internal/external stakeholders tnarrow down problems and achieve resolution. Ensuring SLAs are achieved, and Web Platform Operations work quality expectations are met. Ensuring the accuracy of the Web Platform Operations procedures/documents.Knowledge of architecture, client/server and distributed computing conceptsStrong or Windows Operating & Administration skillsGood understanding of networking protocols: DNS, HTTP, SSL, SMTP, TCPExcellent oral and written communication skillsProven customer/client service skills.Candidates must have good oral and written communication skills in EnglishFlexibility twork weekend & extended, on-call shiftsMonitor mission critical systems and infrastructure tensure proper function with a focus on continuous improvement and optimizationIdentify and investigate bottlenecks and latency issues and implement strategies tproactively address potential challengesMeasure and analyze system health at granular and holistic levels and leverage data tdrive decision making, continually innovating and scaling systems tmeet business objectivesProvide operational support as needed; identify, investigate, and resolve complex technical issues as they ariseServe as a technical and strategic advisor tleadership on technologies and methodologies tscale systems and optimize their availability and performanceQualifications:5 - 10 years of progressive experience in cloud engineering, site reliability, devops, system infrastructure, or a related technical roleDeep knowledge of and experience with cloud infrastructure services (GCP, AWS)Strong scripting and coding ability across multiple languages and technologiesProven experience optimizing reliability and performance and scaling technical infrastructure in a fast paced and collaborative environmentStrong analytical skills and ability tprovide data driven recommendations for critical decision making, mainly around system reconfiguration and improvementWillingness and ability tbe "on call" taddress unforeseen issues outside of normal working hours as neededAkamai CDN, Imperva CDN, Fastly, CloudfrontPerformance, web acceleration techniquesPreferred QualificationsKnowledge of C, python, Javascript or other coding languagesExperience with Infrastructure as Code e.g. TerraformWorked with CDN technologies (Akamai, Imperva, CloudFront, CloudFlare, Fastly, etc.)Knowledge of Kubernetes infrastructure in a production environmentExperience with monitoring tools such as Datadog, Quicksite, Kibana-Log Stash, Splunk, ability tunderstand metrics and impact tsystem performance, and ability tbuild dashboards and alerts tensure system reliabilityExperience managing database systems such as Postgresql, and MysqlExperience with load testing technologies
