📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
TITLE: Senior Business Analyst, Information Systems
DEPARTMENT: Information Systems / Accounting
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Administer the reinsurance processing system and support all aspects of reinsurance processing.
REPORTS TO: Senior Manager, Information Systems
LOCATION: Schaumburg, Illinois (Hybrid)
DUTIES And RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the system administrator for the SICS reinsurance processing system, which includes:Determining how changing business requirements are implemented.Setting up assumed and ceded contractsPerforming batch processingLeading various aspects of the financial quarter close process that are highly integrated with SICS.Maintaining data integrity and ensuring its accuracy and validityProviding user training and supportCoordinating the effort to resolve system issues by working with software vendors and users.Managing the testing and implementation of upgradesProvide users with data that is easy to access and analyze, which includes:Designing and building Business Objects reportsDesigning and building Power BI reports and applicationsProviding user training and support for the data warehouse and business intelligence toolsDesigning the corporate data warehouseDesign and build other applications as needed.Act as an information resource for corporate dataDevelop a thorough understanding of the company’s business and operations.Act as a liaison between departments to facilitate operations.Lead or manage IS projects as needed.
RELATIONSHIPS: Work directly with users in all functional areas as well as with Information Systems, Information Technology, and software vendors to ensure that the system meets user requirements and that users have access to corporate data
EDUCATION OR TRAINING REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Experience And Skills Required
Eight years of experience in insurance or information systemsA mixture of systems and insurance aptitudeA good understanding of property/casualty insurance and reinsuranceA comprehensive understanding of relational database and programming conceptsStrong communication and organization skillsStrong attention to detailProficiency with data extraction and manipulation
Preferred Education/Experience/Training/Skills
CPCU and ARe designations.Familiarity with Power BI, Business Objects, and Microsoft Access
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to travel to conference and customer locations.
The expected starting salary range for this position is between $110,000 and $130,000 annually. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for an annual productivity bonus.
