Job Summary (Purpose):

Field Mentor acts as a coach to the Delivery Reps and Service Techs in the district. Advises using a commitment to safety to support drivers and techs on basic district operations. Supports the training of new drivers and techs answering job questions while safeguarding company assets. Performs the duties of a Delivery Representative or Service Technician as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

Primary duties are those of a Service Tech &/or Delivery RepresentativeFacilitates training activities and skill assessments for new employees and conducts onboarding activities. Communicates and monitors safety policies and procedures for new and existing district employees in support of compliance.Maintains consistent communication with the District Manager and Area Director to share feedback and updatesPerform all daily functions in a safe manner by adhering to all federal and state codes and regulations, in addition to all AmeriGas Safety and Operations Policies and Procedures. Participates in and conducts safety and tailgate meetings as needed Conducts monthly propane and asset inventory

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to communicate effectively with code enforcement officials, regulatory personnel and permitting jurisdictionsMust have ability to work well independently and with others, prioritize and multi-task and take direction and provide direction to others.Ability to work confidentially and closely with the trust and confidence of the District Manager and Area DirectorProblem-solving skills to appropriately plan day-to-day district needsEffective verbal and written communication skills, being able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.

Education and Experience Required

High school diploma requiredTwo or more years in the propane industry preferredComputer skills preferred

Working conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to hazardous or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet, hot or cold and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and flammable materials. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment may be loud. The employee will be working in both office and external work environments.
