Interim Lab Director Needed in a Georgia Medical Center

The Position

The Interim Lab Director will be responsible for the oversight and day-to-day operations of the department, including Microbiology, Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemotherapy, and Phlebotomy service lines.Reporting to the Hospital Administrator, this leader will oversee a team of two direct reports and 80 FTEs. This leader will work diligently to forge strong relationships with staff and the broader hospital community, aiming to reduce staff uncertainty and stabilize turnover rates through concerted efforts. Ideal candidates will be exceptional leaders, adept at forging strong relationships and excelling in collaborative environments. They must possess substantial experience in a large hospital laboratory setting and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of operating within a matrix organizational structure. Must be available to start within 2-3 weeks of acceptance.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.Required certification as a Medical Technician or Medical Laboratory Scientist by the ASCP, AMT, or AAB.Previous healthcare experience required.
