ASL Video Interpreter
Summary: The Video Medical Interpreter will cover a wide range of shifts to serve Deaf and hard-of-hearing community and the practitioners that serve them in a variety of medical settings via video.

Duties and Responsibilities:Provide effective video remote interpreting services for consumersAdhere to all policies and procedures as outlined by Stratus InterpretingExhibit professional behavior at all times including punctuality and preparedness for shifts, respectful and collaborative interaction with colleagues and supervisors, and timely and accurate record keepingDemonstrate the ability to adapt quickly to new and changing technologies and best practicesParticipate in ongoing training, quality assurance and call monitoring programs
Qualifications:National certification recognized by RIDStrong aptitude and investment in customer serviceAt least 5 years of professional interpreting experience in medical settingsExtensive working knowledge of the NAD-RID Code of Professional ConductASL/English fluency; bilingual/bi-cultural competencyRespect for and understanding of Deaf culture and communityFamiliarity with state laws and the Americans with Disabilities Act
Preferred:Video interpreting experience (recent)Medical interpreting experience (recent)Working knowledge and experience working with Certified Deaf Interpreters
Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour based on experience, education and location
Schedule:Part-time 20-28 hours a week
