Position Summary:
As a Senior Packaging Engineer, you will plan, conduct, and coordinate packaging process engineering functions covering all aspects of packaging equipment from primary packaging through secondary packaging and process unit operations as applied in the production of wet and dry pet foods, pet treats and cat litter. You are an expert in all aspects of food processing technology in terms of production systems, quality/sanitation, equipment design and application.
Provide packaging engineering process design and review for capital projects including detailed phases of the engineering work, related documentation and field supportCoordinate work by outside consultants and suppliers and apply broad knowledge of standards, principles and practices in packaging specialtiesSupport divisional continuous improvement efforts and technical assistance to operating facilities, including investigation and analysis of problem areas and opportunities for packaging and process enhancementsApply expert understanding of line balancing, equipment specification, vendor coordination, factory acceptance testing and site acceptance testingAssist in the development and modification of department technical guidelines, standards and specificationsCommunicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teamsBasic Qualifications (Minimum):
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field.5+ years of packaging equipment engineering experience in a manufacturing, industrial, military or related environment.up to 30% Travel to equipment suppliers and construction sites for field data gathering, scope development, project reviews, and system FAT.Steel toe shoes are required, and to be provided by the worker at own expense (job requirement)
