The Role

a16z is seeking to bring in a Corporate Accounting Manager to join an exceptional team responsible for all accounting activities. The Accounting Manager will report to the Assistant Corporate Controller and will partner with the Finance leadership team to enhance and evolve the a16z accounting infrastructure. The role will be responsible for overseeing month-end close, financial reporting, variance analysis, accounting reconciliations, and accounts payable. This person will ensure that our internal customers/partners are well-served with efficient processes (such as invoice approval) and accurate data. This role also handles interactions with external entities such as vendors and agencies. A successful candidate must have experience leading month-end close and accounting operations with a high degree of data fidelity and customer service.

Act as a trusted business partner to the Finance team and the broader operational teams within a16zEnsure that processes are smooth and efficient for all internal and external stakeholdersEnsure that we respond to inquiries on invoices and payments promptlyResponsible for overseeing general ledgers for a16z entitiesWork closely with the Assistant Controller to evolve accounting operationsManage month-end close and implement accounting processes and internal controlsManage multiple accounting books for GAAP and Tax reportingManage and monitor expenses from approval to settlementManage and monitor management fees and fund expense reimbursementsAnalyzing historical cash flow patterns to identify trends and anomaliesManaging accounts payables and ensuring expenses are properly codedRecommend new solutions, processes, and procedures to support new initiativesManage daily accounting activities, as well as address ambiguous problem with limited direction and knowledge of how other areas within the firm are affected

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years relevant experience managing general ledgers and chart of accountsExperience producing accurate accounting records and reportsExperience managing end-to-end AP and AR processesDemonstrated success in high growth, a dynamic, fast-paced environmentExperience with multiple entities, consolidated financials, and intercompany transactionsExperience in creating operational efficiencies and building best in class processesPublic accounting and CPA certification is preferredWorkday Financials experience is preferredMultinational experience is preferred

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $132,000-$154,000, actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.

This role is eligible to participate in the a16z Carry program and various discretionary bonus programs as well as benefit and perquisite plans including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401K plan, vacation, and sick leave.
