Product Quality Engineer

As a Quality Engineer, you will work inside and outside the organization to define and execute processes that deliver high quality & reliable products. This role focuses on unmanned surface vehicles with an emphasis on maritime products & applications and shipbuilding quality management. The right person for this role has knowledge of manufacturing, product development, sub-system performance criteria, metrology, and continuous improvement. Quality is an experience in our design, development, sourcing, manufacturing, and support of our customer and not a function Anduril just does. You will lead quality across the product.

What You’ll Do

Provide quality leadership for a unmanned surface vehicle project from the design to development to production phases of the program. Identify high risk process and product attributes and then partner with development engineering, manufacturing engineering, suppliers, and program management to deliver a quality design solution that can scale to meet volume and quality requirements.Own the elimination of product risk to improve reliability and quality across the product lifecycle. Engage in Quality activities from concept through development and manufacturing to field usage of the product.Ensure the execution of product and process requirements. Define and improve such requirements. Champion the customer experience while bringing innovative solutions to meeting the requirements with the product engineering design, development, and qualification.Work cross-functionally and be a hands on leader to define and execute the product roadmap for features and functions.Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities. Review the effectiveness of actions and share lessons learned across the product team.Lead product quality data collection, analysis, and improvement activities.Support the continuous improvement of the Quality Management System. Define and improve required documentation and activities.Support investigations, initiatives, and projects as needed, at the team or organization level.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical fieldWorking knowledge of AS9100 based Quality Management System requirements.Working knowledge of product development methodologies such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Working knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing processes.Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality in maritime products & applications, shipbuilding, aerospace/defense, automotive or similar complex hardware.A strong ownership mindset with demonstrated capability to drive projects from start to completion.U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in a technical fieldExperience with NAVSEA 271 testing and certification for product testingFamiliarity with hull certification and Key Event Process used in maritime product applications and shipbuilding.Experience with low volume, high complex manufacturingExperience with government contracts and mil standard requirementsExperience with Teamcenter, SolidWorks, Jira, Tableau, Foundry, and ERP systems

US Salary Range

$100,000—$192,000 USD
