Financial Analyst II (005-24)

About This Position:We are seeking a Financial Analyst Level II with immediate availability that will thrive in a challenging and rewarding process-oriented environment. Ideal candidate maintains experience supporting audit response, audit remediation, internal controls, financial processes, and/or accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS), and/or relevant OMB policies for State or Federal Government agencies or large, complex companies.Location:· This position is located on Quantico VA at the Marine Corps Systems Command. It is a Hybrid position where the on-site requirement would be ad hoc and infrequent at the direction of the client. Responsibilities:· Overall support to basic Accounting Tasks to include transaction analysis, accounting reconciliations and data entry.· Conduct financial statement review/reconciliations.· Conduct data Analysis/Remediation across universe of financial transactions.· Provide interpretive and analytical perspective on financial transactions and program execution.· Compile data remediation plans and corrective actions for transactional data discrepancies.· Develops and formats content to provide program and financial managers with various data relative to funds status.· Assist with the preparation of month end and year-end financial statements and reports.· Review and assist with reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.· Assist with annual audit preparation and responses as assigned.· Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.· Review General Ledger accounts and identify negative trends; recommend corrective action.· Advise on Trial Balance/General Ledger Account abnormal conditions and recommend corrective actions.· Assist with development of required documentation in support of Journal Voucher for submission to Comptroller or higher for signature; review all supporting documentation IAW regulation and policy. Security Clearance:· US Citizenship required.· Ability to obtain and maintain a US Security clearance at the minimum level of Secret. Education and Experience:· Minimum Years of Experience: Three (3) years of progressive, relevant experience.· Minimum Education: Four (4) year degree in accounting or business management related field from an accredited institution.

• Minimum Certification: One of the following professional certifications: CPA, CISA, CIA, CGFM or CDFM. Preferred Additional Skills:An understanding of DoD Acquisition Process, and equipment life cycle support functionsAn understanding of OSD Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA) and use of Business Process Narratives across multiple procurement and order functions utilized in DoD and public sector.Analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot systems problems.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
