Apex Systems is seeking Chemists for an immediately available long term contract opportunity with one of the worlds largest producers and marketers of tobacco, cigarettes and related products.
Title: Analytical Chemist - Physical & Thermal Characterization
Contract: long term renewable contract
Shift: 1st shift
Location: Richmond, VA
Summary
The Chemist will support the analytical needs for the foundational science work within Analytical Sciences. This work will consist of thermal, physical, and spectroscopic characterizations, including measurements of pH, water activity, water content, particle size, calorimetry, hardness, viscosity, and other physical or wet chemistry properties. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience.
Responsibilities
Proficiency with physical and thermal characterizations such as pH, water activity, water content, particle size, calorimetry, hardness, and viscosity with over three years of experience
Qualificaitions
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or closely related field with demonstrated experience in an analytical testing laboratoryExperience with pH, water activity, and hardness testingExperience with calorimetry, particle size analyzers, or viscocity preferredExcellent attention to detail, verbal and written communication skillsProficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft products
