Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance Manager

Summary

Create FDA-compliant food product labels, incorporating ingredient statements, nutrition facts panels, and allergen statements with proficiency in retail food regulation and guidance. Review and approve label artwork with a high degree of accuracy, including graphics, formatting, text, and grammar. Manage product nutrition and ingredient information, including supporting documents from suppliers. Identify labeling issues and communicate with the appropriate teams. Support the Sales/Customer Service teams with inquiries related to products and ingredients. Provide suppliers and customers with regulatory information through their online portals. Review product formulas and raw materials for compliance with regulatory requirements Assist with the development of product specifications. Contribute to product related communications with regulatory and nutrition insights. Assist with the implementation of programs, policies, SOPs, and practices to ensure products comply with regulations. Collaborate with multiple functions and support innovation projects. Participate in GFSI and customer audits.

Qualifications

BS required, MS preferred, with an emphasis on nutrition science, food science, food microbiology, or related fields Regulatory certifications a plus Minimum 3-5 years in food labeling with regulatory experience preferred. Hands on experience with US-FDA labeling of retail food products or related industry experience Knowledge of Food Safety fundamentals Ability to interpret and implement regulations and guidance documents.
