Position: OSP/Network Implementation

Location: Remote

12 Month Contract w/ Extension

The Network Implementation Engineer

Network Investments is responsible for overall implementation, Deployment and Technical Delivery of Greenfield & Brownfield fiber deployments and leased IRUs into the company production environment.Activities will include project managing the day to day activity of network development projects in North America, managing partners/contractors to deliverables identifying and mitigating project risks and developing and managing project budgets ensuring on-time delivery of network to the business.In this role, you will collaborate with Network Development, Network Planning, Edge Network Deployment, Legal, Finance and other internal stakeholders.

Network Implementation Engineer - Network Investments Responsibilities:

Coordinate and manage build partners, engineering and construction firms and associated project budget/s mitigating risk for the project through pre-planning, innovative planning, and partnershipCollaborate with internal teams to implement long-term infrastructure build plans considering construction timelines, ROW feasibility, and budget needsSupport tracking and management of ROW and permit acquisition process in conjunction with an aggressive deployment schedule of design and constructionCollaborate with Sourcing & Net/Dev on new Project Opportunities, potential partner / vendor identification, buildability & High Level Project BudgetReceive new Projects to Implementation stage via Project Kickoff Document including full E2E requirements support MPRDrive Q/A and Q/C of project management system updates/reportingService delivery of Project deliverables to company XFN teams, including all E2E elements in support of MPR(s) as applicableDevelopment of Fiber Acceptance and project closeout packages in accordance with company StandardsWork closely with finance to develop business plans, budgets, and forecastsAbility and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time within North America Minimum

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.Negotiation skills and experience to problem solveMS Suite proficiency, with experience using spreadsheet tools and/or programsExperience preparing and presenting quantitative and qualitative comparative analysis and reportsDetail oriented with experience managing multiple cross-functional tasks and projectsUnderstanding of key telco milestones for delivery of dark fiber routes Preferred Qualifications:2+ years of project management experience with a focus on Telecom and/or utility construction preferredTelecom outside and/or inside plant experienceKnowledge of capital budget management. (ie-project forecasting, management of accruals)Technical delivery and acceptance from vendors of fiber specs, interpretation of OTDR traces, and project closeout packagesAbout company: builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
