(Senior) Director, Drug Discovery (Fungal Biology) 2018175

Location: Cambridge, MA (Onsite)

Science/ Focus: Fungal Biology

Therapeutic Area: Fungal Diseases

Job Overview: This job is seeking a drug discovery leader with expertise in the anti-fungal therapeutic area, who has made substantial contributions to target identification and drug discovery efforts, and has experience in assay and in vivo model development.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Lead a research team to develop, optimize, and execute fungal assays to identify and characterize bioactive molecules; design and execute in vitro and in vivo experiments, presenting data to leadership team. Strategic leadership and direction for anti-fungal drug target selection, evaluation and prioritization Direct the discovery process across preclinical development, clinical candidate selection through to IND filing. Collaborate with functional teams, establish PK/PD/efficacy relationship and translational biomarker strategy.

Primary Job Requirements

PhD and 6+ years of drug discovery experience in an industry setting Leadership experience in Fungal Biology/Genetics or related subject area Proficient in designing and implementing medium to high-throughput assays to assess single agent activity and discover synergistic drug combinations. Experience with antifungal drug discovery is highly desirable
