📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Established defense litigation firm in Tampa, FL seeks an experienced full-time litigation paralegal with solid defense experience for its Tampa location; medical malpractice experience a plus.
Duties:Must have the ability to draft correspondence and pleadings, draft discovery and responsesSpeak with clients; review medical records and prepare medical chronologiesPrepare non-party record subpoenas according to state and federal regulationsE-file in state and federal courtsLocate and work with expert witnesses; and prepare cases for witness interviews, depositions, mediations and trial.This is a timekeeper position so experience with timely reporting billable time in accordance with client guidelines is necessary.
Qualifications:3 plus years of legal experienceDefense experienceSomeone who can hit the ground running and work well independentlyMust have strong analytical and organizational skillsBe capable of multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced, litigation team environmentHave knowledge of the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, especially the Medical Malpractice statutes and processHave strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office and Word and Adobe Acrobat or other pdf program.
