Senior Construction AccountantWe are seeking a dynamic and seasoned accounting professional to join our client’s unique and innovative business in Overland Park, KS. As a Senior Construction Accountant, you will be:• Forge strong relationships and partnerships with key leaders and controllers.• Building baseline financials for multiple projects by collecting and preparing data to create reports using project cost analysis and forecasting.• Monitoring and tracking project costs, becoming the champion for financial success.• Collaborating closely with project managers, controllers, and other key staff.• Presenting financial reports in a way that will entice and empower teams to take action.• Navigating purchase orders and invoices, along with reconciliations of financial data monthly.• Preparing monthly sales and use tax returns.• Flowing with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting, navigating obstacles with determination.• Preparing monthly and quarterly reports, including identified KPIs and financial results.• Performing month end close activities across multiple company brands.• Creating process improvements and enhanced financial SOPs.
Prerequisites for this role include:• 5+ years of experience in construction project cost accounting.• Proficiency in construction accounting principles and practices.• Prior experience and mastery of accounting software, preferably Spectrum Viewpoint ERP.• Possessing a visionary and analytical mind with great attention to detail.• Strong demonstrated ability to communicate both verbally and written with all levels of teams and cross-collaboration.• Demonstrated ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, understanding the need for shifting priorities
