Quality Engineer
📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
JOB DESCRIPTION:The Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining and ensuring conformance with Business Management Plan and its compliance to ISO 9001 and IATF 16949. This position will be the lead auditor for quality system’s internal audits, the administrator of the corrective action system, establish and maintain quality assurance procedures, and manage the document control system. As well as address internal and external customer quality issues, creating and managing Process Flow diagrams and control plans.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Position is the lead internal auditor and one of the main contacts for the ISO/IATF audits.Create, Evaluate and Audit corrective actions.Make procedural changes to Work Instructions and other ISO/IATF documents. Investigate and take a lead role in correcting problems causing non-conforming product. Manage weekly and monthly reports to provide timely quality performance results to management (balance scorecard KPI goals info).Provide technical input to team from a quality viewpoint. Team member of the FMEA team. Participate in the use of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
EDUCATION/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:Associate Degree (or higher) in a Technical Field or Business Management combined with related experience a must. Certified training for ISO 9001 / IATP 16949Possess a solid understanding of automotive quality practices (AIAG).2 + years of experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.Must support and exhibit ArcelorMittal’s Core values. Innovative, self-motivated and possess excellent problem identification/definition, planning, interpersonal communication, and group process skills.Ability to operate with minimal supervision.Strong organization and computer skills in utilizing Microsoft Office Software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:The candidate must possess the physical ability climb stairs and move between the various pieces of equipment they are responsible to operate. The candidate must be able to lift up to approximately 40 pounds (flat test samples) and possess the ability to hear and speak clearly and over the plant radio and intercom systems.
