Job Summary

Arch Insurance Group Inc., (AIGI), has an opening with the Claims Division on the Major Case Unit Team as a Vice President. In this role, the responsibilities include for leading the development, implementation and execution of claims strategies to deliver optimal loss cost management and customer satisfaction in support of overall business objectives. Lead and direct Complex claims department leadership and personnel in achieving high standards of productivity, efficiency and alignment of organizational goals. Ensure compliance with all local, federal and state regulations related to claims while minimizing risk/exposure to the Arch organization.

Responsibilities

Provide vision and leadership to the Claims organization & complex claims in accordance with the company’s strategic directionCultivate a departmental culture that excels in communication and collaborationDrives the development, implementation and continuous planning, organizing and leading of all claim programs, metrics, processes, results and initiativesLeads, directs and has full management accountability for Claims staff with an emphasis on talent management and succession planning in accordance with corporate strategic directionCollaborates with Underwriting, Risk Management, Actuarial, and other stakeholders to ensure knowledge sharing on market trends, legal changes and loss developmentsLeverage resources, technology, and processes to drive innovation within the departmentIdentifies and implements claim best practices for proper and consistent claim performance, compliance and achievement of business goalsManage staff performance; implement strategies and plans to address staff development; identify and address training needs on an ongoing basisResponsible for cost containment strategies including allocated and unallocated expenses within the Claims operationAssist with development of Claims annual operational goals, objectives and budgetsSupervise third party administrators and/or independent adjustersEnsure sound litigations management practices, including detailed review of legal bills using online toolsCommunicate effectively with brokers and reinsurers on relevant claim developmentsPerform other duties and/or projects as assigned

Qualifications

Demonstrated people management and development skills in a service/account management roleDetailed technical knowledge of general liability claims handling with the ability to advise Casualty Claims Examiners on the handling of complex injury and coverage casesHands-on experience and strong aptitude with PowerBI, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and WordExceptional communication (written and verbal), evaluating, influencing, negotiating, listening, and interpersonal skills to effectively develop productive working relationships with internal/external peers and other professionals across organizational linesStrong problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical, organizational, and time management skillsAbility to analyze, organize, and present information in a clear and succinct mannerAbility to take part in active strategic discussionsAbility to work independently and in a team environment

Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree; Juris Doctorate degree preferredTen plus (10+) years working experience in the insurance industry managing a team supporting commercial accounts for high exposure Casualty claims, litigation, and coverageWilling and able to travel 10-15%This position is a hybrid role with 2 days in office

For individuals assigned or hired to work in California, Colorado, Jersey City, NJ; New York State; and/or Washington State, the base salary range is listed below. This range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

$166,900 - $225,300/year

Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs.
