COMPANY is a rapidly growing organization that owns and operates multiple insurance companies and ancillary insurance businesses and has over $10 billion of total invested assets.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Investment Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately recording and reporting on all investment activity for COMPANY's five insurance entities. This role requires a strong understanding of alternative asset classes, including structured securities, private credit investments, mortgage loans, and derivatives.Responsibilities include:Prepare and review investment schedules for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including the annual audit, investment footnotes and other off quarter filingsPrepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement amountsAssist in the preparation of quarterly GAAP financial statements and annual statutory statements (“blue books”)Support the investment components of NAIC Risk Based Capital (“RBC”) reportingSupport the annual AM Best Supplemental Rating Questionnaire processCollaborate with the Middle Office to ensure accurate trade recordingAssist with interim and year-end auditsPrepare and review monthly collateral reports for reinsurance counterpartiesOther duties and responsibilities as assignedQualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with 4+ years of relevant work experienceProficiency in Microsoft Office, especially ExcelStrong understanding of statutory and GAAP accountingExcellent time management skills and attention to detailAbility to build relationships with diverse team membersStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenComfort with a steep learning curve and motivation to work in a dynamic environment
