Collections Analyst

Ascendo is seeking a Collections Analyst for our global client based in Herndon, VA.

The primary focus of this role is to address working capital issues by improving invoicing, accruals, collections processes, and reducing Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).

The Collections Analyst will play a key role in implementing initiatives to enhance and streamline processes, providing additional support to meet working capital requirements.

Top 3 Keys:3+ years of B2B collections experience with proficiency in pivot tables/VLOOKUPs for reporting purposes.Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, emphasizing a proactive approach to collections management.Proficiency in Excel and SAP, capable of handling large volumes of data and managing complex customer queries beyond traditional phone-based collections.

Volume and Experience:Assigned portfolios/customers vary in volume, averaging around 1100-1200 line items.Required experience: 3+ years in B2B collections, including handling escalations, proactive follow-ups, and managing approximately $2 million in monthly collections.Standard expectation of 25 touches per day, with the majority of the day spent in Excel for reporting, reviewing aging reports, conducting follow-ups, and executing collections to reduce customer accounts.

Responsibilities:Manage collections activities for assigned portfolios/customers, including proactive outreach and follow-up to ensure timely payment and resolution of outstanding balances.Analyze customer accounts and aging reports to identify delinquent accounts and implement appropriate collection strategies.Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and customers to address inquiries, resolve disputes, and escalate issues as needed.Utilize SAP and Excel to generate reports, track collections progress, and analyze data to identify trends and areas for process improvement.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline collections processes and implement best practices to reduce DSO and improve cash flow.Maintain accurate records of collections activities, including notes on customer interactions, payment arrangements, and dispute resolutions.Provide regular updates and reporting to management on collections performance, including aging reports, collection metrics, and forecasted cash flow.
