Company Description
Asempe Kitchen, LLC is a West African food concept that uses food to encourage dialogue and curiosity about each other. We specialize in providing the very best gluten, soy, and dairy-free, plant-based West African food using 7 natural ingredients or less in the majority of our dishes. Our dishes are mildly spicy but we also offer a spicy sauce for those who prefer it. We offer Culinary Experiences, Cooking Classes, and Food Demonstrations, as well as catering and pop-ups to create a just world through food. Located in Ithaca, NY, we also serve clients within 2 hours of Ithaca for a fee.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Kitchen Assistant at Asempe Kitchen, LLC. The Kitchen Assistant will be responsible for food preparation, ingredient shopping, and maintaining hygiene standards in the kitchen, among numerous other tasks. They will also assist with food and beverage service and provide excellent customer service to our clients.

Food Preparation and Cooking skillsKnowledge of food hygiene and safety practicesExperience in food and beverage serviceCustomer service skillsAbility to work well in a teamStrong attention to detailExcellent communication skillsExperience in West African cuisine is a plus
Please note that additional qualifications and skills in culinary arts, food safety certifications, and multicultural cuisine would be highly beneficial for this role.
